Forget medication – chronic bad breath (halitosis) can be cured simply by brushing your teeth twice a day with anti-bacterial toothpaste and using a tongue scraper, according to research by the American Association for Dental Research.
Halitosis is often caused by the breakdown of bacteria in the mouth, producing foul-smelling sulphur compounds. It’s estimated 25% of adults suffer the embarrassment of chronic bad breath and in elderly people this may be as high as 50%.
