Things that drive women mad
After more than 21 years in professional matchmaking, we have learned the things that drive women mad and that relationships are rarely about finding someone who is perfect. They are about finding someone whose personality, habits and values fit comfortably with your own.
Of course, every woman is different. What one woman finds amusing, another may find frustrating. But when it comes to dating and relationships, there are a few everyday behaviours that regularly come up in conversations with women.
Happy Women’s Day to all the wonderful, strong and dynamic women!
What Women Really Want from Men in a Relationship
Communication matters
One of the biggest complaints we hear is not necessarily about what men say, but about whether they genuinely listen. Being distracted during a conversation, constantly checking your phone or concentrating on the television can make your partner feel as though what she is saying isn’t important.
Good communication starts with paying attention.
Consideration goes a long way.
Living with or spending time with another person means becoming aware of the small things that affect them. Leaving clothes around, not replacing something you have used, or expecting someone else to tidy up after you can gradually become irritating.
These may seem like insignificant habits, but relationships are built through hundreds of small daily interactions.
Respect the shared space.
Bathrooms have probably caused more relationship disagreements than anyone would care to admit! Whether it is shaving residue left behind, towels on the floor or forgetting to lower the toilet seat, the answer is remarkably simple: think about the person who uses the space after you.
Give each other room to enjoy your interests.
Men and women often have very different hobbies and spending priorities. One may love technology, sport or cars, while the other enjoys fashion, travel or shopping.
Healthy relationships aren’t about keeping score. They are about allowing both people to enjoy the things they love while making sensible compromises.
And perhaps most importantly…
Women don’t expect men to be perfect – and men shouldn’t expect women to be perfect either.
A successful relationship is about respect, attraction, communication, kindness, compromise and making an effort. The little habits may occasionally drive your partner crazy, but how you treat each other matters far more than whether the toilet seat is up or down!
At The Only Social Club, our approach to professional matchmaking is personal. We believe that getting to know someone involves much more than comparing a list of characteristics. Genuine compatibility develops through conversation, personality, values, attraction and ultimately chemistry.
This Women’s Day, celebrate the women in your life – listen to them, appreciate them, make them laugh and, perhaps, remember to put the toilet seat down!
